My name is Ana and I was born in Barcelona, a charming and welcoming city where it is easy to get lost admiring its beauty. My mother is from Ávila, a city in central Spain, known for its impressive medieval wall, its rich culture and the impact it has had over the centuries on the development of the Spanish language. Ávila has been a historical reference and a source of linguistic influences that have left a deep mark on the language we speak today. I believe that this connection with my roots is what has awakened my passion for Spanish, my mother tongue. I have always been concerned about writing and speaking correctly. I believe in its greatness and its perfect sound, the one that inspires character.
I have always been able to express myself naturally in both Spanish and Catalan, which has allowed me to grow up with two languages. I have the highest level of Catalan certification and I really enjoy teaching it. It is a language with a special musicality and a sweet touch, full of characteristics that make it extremely interesting.
Since I was a child, languages have always been one of my great passions. In addition to Spanish and Catalan, I have always been particularly attracted to English. A few years ago, I lived for a while near London, and thanks to this language, I have had the opportunity to meet many people who have left a significant mark on my life.
I have a degree in law, and after several years working on large projects, leading and training teams of people, I felt that I wanted to dedicate myself to teaching, especially Spanish and Catalan. I am passionate about contact with other cultures, learning from their experiences, their stories, their dreams and their challenges.
After reflecting on making a change in my professional life, I obtained a certificate as a Spanish teacher, accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, the highest institution that makes the Spanish language known throughout the world.
Nowadays, I really enjoy working with my students, learning from them and, of course, adapting their needs to the classes. I have always believed that each person has their own pace and learning needs.
I am a dynamic and energetic person who enjoys what I do, and this is reflected in my classes. I am passionate about continuing to learn every day, I regularly attend conferences to keep up to date with the latest developments in teaching and I also continue to study other languages.
When I'm not teaching, I like to be with my family and friends, decorate my house, play the piano, read, play sports, especially swimming (I think sports are essential in a person's life. It keeps you alive and energetic!). And of course... I love traveling! I think it's a source of inspiration, the best way to learn and to open your mind. Life is a journey and traveling is living twice!
